SUMMARY:School Coaching for Transformational Change & Team Coaching/Team Performance
DESCRIPTION:DEIJ Statement: Coaches Evolve is committed to and accountable for advancing diversity\, equity\, inclusion\, and sustainability in all its forms. We embrace individual uniqueness\, foster a culture of inclusion that supports both broad and specific diversity initiatives\, leverage the educational benefits of diversity in society and nature\, and engage all individuals to help them thrive. We value inclusion as a core strength and an essential element of our mission. \n\n\n\nTarget Audience: Pre-K-12 Instructional Coaches\, TOSAs\, Administrators\n\n\n\nCoaching is fast becoming a viable model for change and growth with the capacity to enhance continuous leadership development\, the quality of teaching\, and student learning. Coaching can also address the inequities surfacing within districts. Coaching is an interaction style that requires an additional skillset that takes specific training and time to develop. Learning how to support teachers/educators requires the coach to have high levels of emotional and social intelligence\, the ability to customize on the spot\, and the ever-increasing aptitude for patience and flexibility. \n\n\n\nTeam coaching and team performance are at the forefront of coaches’ current work with the capacity to enhance the quality of teaching and student learning. At times\, districts have the cart before the horse. \n\n\n\nThey create teams (PLCs and others) to perform highly important tasks with little or no training in how teams develop. Team coaching requires a deep understanding of how teams develop and knowledge of what constitutes a high performing team. Coaches must learn how to “shape shift” into different roles depending on the stage of development within the team. Learning how to support teams requires the coaches to have extensive understanding of group dynamics and team process. \n\n\n\nThe purpose of our training is to prepare participants to coach within a customized framework that meets district and school site needs. As a result of this workshop\, participants will: \n\n\n\nDevelop coaching competencies and effective coaching behaviors that build on individual and team strengths\, motivate learning\, and set high expectationsGain a greater awareness of current coaching theories\, trends\, and researchExplore the 8 core competencies the International Coach Federation has determined essential for effective coachingClarify the roles of consultant\, mentor\, and coachLearn the 3 keys to establishing an effective coaching relationship with individuals and teamsDiscuss essential elements in building a working relationship with the principal to build a coaching culture within the schools (roles\, responsibilities\, boundaries\, confidentiality and other)Observe modeled coaching and practice coaching with peersExplore 7 Stages of team developmentLearn the qualities of a successful team coach and clarify “shape shifting roles”Discuss essential elements in building high performing teamsCreate an initial coaching action plan for working with K-12 educators and/or teamsFoster and maintain an on-going practice for cultivating self-awareness\, mindfulness\, and self-reflective practices\n\n\n\nWorkshop Location/Specifics \n\n\n\n8:00 am Continental B’fast and sign-in8:30 – 3:30 daily11:30 – 12:30 Lunch on your own20 hours Instruction/PDU certificate provided \n\n\n\nWorkshop Costs (Materials Included) \n\n\n\n$ 475.00 per participant (3 day training) 8:00 am Continental B’fast and sign-inPayment required before training day/no refunds 8:30 – 3:30 dailyafter July 20\, 2022 \n\n\n\nAccommodations\n\n\n\nHotels: Best Western Plus Rivershore Hotel 1900 Clackamette Dr. Oregon City\, OR 97045Restaurants: OC Point 19502 Molalla Ave Oregon City Or 97045MOD Pizza\, Hawaiian Time\, Starbucks\, Taco Del MarFive Guys\, Bugatti’s\, Wichita Bar & Grill\, Lil’ Cooperstown \n\n\n\nAbout Kathy Norwood\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nKathy Norwood\, Ed.
