Change is challenging. Models of change can be useful guidelines in working with individuals and organizations. Some models may be better than others, depending on the specific context in which one is working. While there are many models of change, there are three basic ones that will be useful in leading and coaching situations: the Forcefield Analysis model of change (Lewin, 1951), the Transition model of change (Bridges, 2003) and the Transtheoretical model of change (Prochaska & DiClemente, 1984, 1992).
